AWIHF Officially Launches at Gulu University Library Hall

On 11 July 2026, Acholi Women in Health Foundation (AWIHF) officially launched at Gulu University Library Hall, marking a defining public milestone in our mission to expand equitable, community-rooted healthcare for women and girls across Northern Uganda.

The launch was graced by Deputy IGG Dr. Patricia Acan Okiria, Commissioner for Non-Communicable Diseases with the Ministry of Health Oyoo Charles Akiya, and a wide range of stakeholders whose presence affirmed the urgency of strengthening local health systems through partnership, advocacy, and grassroots action.

More than a ceremonial event, the official launch signaled AWIHF's next chapter: building on programme experiences such as the Patiko Medical Outreach and advancing sustained work in maternal and reproductive health, mental health and trauma support, community health education, and healthcare systems strengthening.

Your support reaches the women who need it most.

Help fund safe motherhood care, mental health support, cervical cancer awareness, mentorship, and community health education in Northern Uganda.
